85% Mencia, 10% Garnacha, 5% Mouratón
Ribeira Sacra (`Sacred River Bank`) is a DO defined by its twisting river valleys and precipitous, vineyard-lined river banks. In Galician vernacular Vel`Uveyra means `gaze at the vineyard`, and Ronsel do Sil`s vineyards are on an impressively steep river bank where the terraces were originally laid out by the Romans. Peppery, red-fruited and floral, with an intriguing backnote of earth and smoke, this light-bodied but aromatically complex wine is a beautiful expression of the Mencia grape variety.
