“Domaine Legros Sancerre Vielles Vignes 2020 vintage is a selection of manual harvested from old vines, aged in oak barrels, specifically 20% new barrels with a light toast and 80% in old barrels of 2-10 years age. This Sancerre Blanc is a wine for laying down while still respecting the Sauvignon tradition. Color is a light, golden yellow, with a floral nose with discreet vanilla notes. On the palate, it shows a beautiful richness that balances the typical minerality and aromatics of Sancerre yet has a fascinating complexity from the oak aging. The wine has a long, lingering finish a goes especially well with escargots, poultry, white meat game, and of course, fish.”
